Since the relaunch, I'm afraid I've been far too serious in tone with my posts to this blog, so now it's time for some obnoxiously self-indulgent nonsense. I want to talk about my headcanons regarding the deck mashups of yugioh's current format, Justice Hunters 2026.

I clarify 2026 here because we're working with the version of Dracotail that's currently using the White Albaz engine to great success (arguably enough to put it in top 1 contention), and I think I'll go ahead and start there. I feel like Dracotail/Branded is a reasonable enough crossover, given both focus on demidragon humanoids fusing into massive dragonoid forms. The main difference, from where I'm sitting at least, is that the dracotails draw on the power of existing pure dragons, where Albaz (and Aluber) mainly just Transform. That being said, the overlap is enough that I've kinda been circling around the idea that maybe the Dracotails are just the rest of the people living in wherever it was that Albaz mysteriously fell from. Maybe that contradiction in fusion magic is a part of it; Albaz's transformations were deemed heretical and he was cast out. Makes the whole "fallen" thing have a certain conotation to it, especially given the dracotails are vaguely based on star signs. Given what we know, these dragon-people being some kind of divine, possibly angelic equivalent could be really interesting.

Although, speaking of heavenly bodies, there is kind of an elephant in the room. There's some contention still over what the best Yummy variant is, especially after the assassination of my beloved Herald, which previously let you bridge into Mitsurugi. Right now I'm seeing people playing Azamina and bridging into yummy with the snake eyes monsters, and people bridging into fiendsmith by... using reprodocus to make the yummys into fiends?? Whatever the case, which one of these is the best, they all still work with my vision, which is that the Yum Yum Yummy Claw Machine is like, a standard include in the break rooms of divine or unholy beings. The mitsurugis are all named after swords wielded by japanese gods, the azamina are born of the heretical act of eating the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, and the fiendsmith archetype is deeply, deeply catholic. And all of them have ties to this stupid ass claw machine that hands out candies and treats. The only logical conclusion is that angels and demons both love cat-themed treats, and the thrill of the claw game.

And in the same break rooms might sit an old arcade machine for our last pair, Vanquish Soul and it's partner in crime, K9. And I do think the lynchpin here is VS because like. Ok. Vanquish Soul is a fighting game, right? That's why the cast all have varying aesthetics, it's a varied fighting game roster. The K9's also have very different aestehtics from one another. We've got a bear woman, a werewolf, two elemental thingies? and some robot guy. And like. I think the K9 are all just a DLC wave for Vanquish Soul. Like, I think Lupis and Izuna's tranformations are an install, Jokul and Lantern are an ice climbers style duo character, and noroi has a really good assist. Lupis probably plays more like a Guile (or Remy, tbh) and I think Izuna is the rosters official Chun Li. "Oh but VS already has a Chun!" how little you know. The enlightened mind recognizes Pantera is a Juri. And yes, I do think the two animal women do have the Chun Li/Juri dynamic, and yes I do think in the metaverse where Vanquish Soul is an arcade cabinet, there's a lot of art of them having toxic yuri sex! and I want to see it very badly!!

I think you're supposed to end posts with a call to action so I guess that's the one for this one. Please draw Pantera and K9-17 Izuna having weird gay sex together.
